Members can book our workshops for children and young people (or adults!) working with a choice of artists for a minimum of 2 hour sessions, a day or long term residency workshops.

Artist in Residency

Grumpy can provide a Resident Artist to work on a project for a set number of weeks. Tailored to specific events and requests, residences can be designed to suit any ages and abilities.

Making Ways with Waste: Scrap modeling workshops to encourage imagination and promote use of recycled            materials creatively.

Kite Making: Working with new and recycled materials to create fun, colourful kites. Perfect for a procession or                                    display

Mask Making: Creating and decorating masks from recycled materials. Can be tailored to themed events (e.g.             Multi-cultural/ Animals/ Carnivals)

Puppetry: Learn how to make puppets from recycled materials, ideal for story-telling, props and shows

Lantern Making: Creating and decorating lanterns for Chinese New Year, Halloween, Eid - perfect for any special         or festive occasions

Banner Making: Using recycled materials and/or textiles to create your own unique banners for events, signage,             displays and processions

Clay Modeling: Working with tactile air-drying clay to model three dimensional objects and mini sculptures.                 Participants will experience creative expressions with mark making; touch and texture

Jewellery Making: Make jewellery/ accessories/ head-dresses from new and recycled materials. Ideal for themed             events and multicultural festivals

Mosaic: Work with mosaic and mirrors to create decorative pieces. Can be made to any size, from small                     intricate pieces to giant murals!

Multi-Cultural Workshop: Learn about other cultural festivals through crafts, explore the significant of colours,             shapes and symbols

Circus Skills: Learn new skills while improving concentration, balance and coordination

Sound Sculpture: A great sound and movement experience - the sound sculpture detects movements, relays             to music, tones and notes to synchronize and trace the slightest motion to create sound effects

Play Space: Themed workshop to suit your needs. Create a play environment which invites artistic sensibilities,           sensory and interactive play

Drumming: Make some noise! Explore sound and rhythm

Creative Workshops for Adults 

  • Grumpy Creative Making Ways with Waste Adult Training – minimum 3 hours. Hands-on training designed and developed to build confidence, learn new skills and techniques to work with Grumpy recycled scrap and new materials. Fun, inclusive and informal with emphasis on hands-on activities designed to encompass equality and diversity.

Grumpy invites all practicing trainers and artists to join our workshop leader database. On behalf of our members we advise, coordinate and supply artists to run creative workshops. Workshops are tailored to meet the needs of individuals, groups or organisations who use creative arts in their work to promote and celebrate diversity.
